How to take care of your Bronze Jewellery
We recommend that you take your jewellery off at night and whilst bathing or swimming. To keep it clean wash it with normal soap and water and dry it with a soft cloth.
Just like silver can tarnish, so can bronze. Your bronze jewellery will darken over time from a light golden colour to a dark smoked bronze. If you want to restore the golden sheen gently clean your bronze jewellery with a suitable liquid metal polish.

As bronze contains copper it can react with your skin oils and create a greenish layer on the surface. This only happens if the jewellery is kept damp for a long period of time or kept in very close contact with your skin and rarely taken off or cleaned. By keeping your bronze jewellery clean and dry it is unlikely to go green.
However this is nothing to worry about and can easily be cleaned off with a suitable liquid metal polish. It is most likely to happen with rings or tight bracelets, a quick fix is to coat the inside with clear nail polish.
What is Bronze?
Bronze is a copper alloy, usually made from 88% copper and 12% tin. By adding tin to the copper, it makes a harder and more durable metal. This means that solid bronze jewellery is durable, easy to clean, and will last for decades.
Bronze is a bright golden colour when polished and will darken over time to a beautiful dark smoked bronze antique patina.
It was discovered around 2200 BC – known as the Bronze Age. At this time Bronze was the hardest metal and was used to make tools, weapons and jewellery. Cornwall at that time was likely a prosperous place with the need for its naturally occurring tin and copper in high demand.
